You've been warned. There's a boobquake coming next Monday. In response to an Iranian cleric — who declared that women dressed immodestly "lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes" — women around the world will embrace the supernatural power of their breasts and attempt to produce an earthquake by wearing the most cleavage-showing shirt they own.

But while the blogger behind it may have had feminist intentions, some say the "event" has devolved into a girls-gone-wild affair with guys writing "show us your tits" on the Facebook event page. What do you make of it?

What if an earthquake really does happen that day? Or even the next? The only thing that will empower is the cleric and his ridiculous ideas. It's a big risk to take I think.

Its very very stupid. I don't care what this Iranian cleric says and neither anyone else here. And it will be something like "Breast hour" and for one hour we will show more cleavage to save the west from hardcore religious freaks..Omg. Sound like some prunk some college boy would do to see some boobies.

Sure why not. Last Tuesday night I went with a neighbor to "Girlz Night" (lesbian) at a bar. The place was packed shoulder to shoulder 98% ladies. I swear on the way to and from the bathroom I told her I just touched more boobs in five minutes than I have in my entire life.

With all the earthquakes recently do we really want to tempt fate? It's like the 'what colour is your bra' facebook thing. Good intentions, I guess, but overall... nah.

I think that's a funny and cool response to the notion that women's bodies are harmful, but I think it sucks that a bunch of stupid dude-bros are taking it out of context by promoting "show us yer tittiez"

Women should use their low cut shirts for good, not earthquakes. Since we've allegedly been causing natural disasters unknowingly, we need to harness and direct our boob power, not use it randomly to destroy villages and cities.

..... I'm kind of torn. at first I got pretty excited and thought yay! Are we all going to jump up and down at the same time and cause a worldwide boobquake? But something about this doesn't sit right with me. I'm all for protesting but I'm not sure I want to stick it to one man only to feed ten more.
