Do-Si-Do to "I Do" With These Country Engagement Ideas

Wherever you fall on the country scale — from rustic chic to gun-toting Western — putting a little cowboy charm in your engagement shoot can make for some romantic photos. There are numerous ways to incorporate horses, cowboy boots, old trucks, and hay bales in your eshoot, so I've picked some of my favorite shots to inspire your own country engagement shoot.

Severen and Caitlind are high school sweethearts who are tying the knot on July 18, 2015, at Caitlind's parents' farm. When the two took their engagement photos in the middle of the Alberta prairies in Canada, it was -30°C (-22°F)! The photographer, Justine Wowdzia, adds, "However, nothing could stop these two country lovers from climbing in the hay, riding around in Severen's pickup truck, and having a fabulously (freezing cold!) session."

Amber and Julian's glam-country engagement session was shot at the mother-of-the-bride's ranch in Conroe, TX. The pair wanted their engagement shoot to have a modern country feel to it, and everything about it was handmade. Amber's mom made her dress, bedazzled her boots, and made her a bouquet using an heirloom pendant. They also used the family's antique furniture in the shoot.
