There have been 23 men (some more than once) and one couple awarded People's Sexiest Man Alive title since the tradition began in 1985, and the hottest man of 2013 has just been unveiled. Congrats to number 24, People's 2013 Sexiest Man Alive, Adam Levine! The sexy singer is the first musician to be selected for the honor, and only the second nonactor (after John F. Kennedy Jr.).

We've been taking a look back at the fellas who've won over the years to see what it takes to be the king of sexy. There have definitely been trends; some of the common denominators include blue eyes, playing a hot doctor on TV, having an accent or speaking another language, playing James Bond, being a part of an all-star couple, doing charity work, and, of course, starring in Ocean's Eleven.
