It appears Bill Clinton has come out of retirement to put his foot in his mouth. When discussing his appreciation for Mad Men, Clinton attempted to present a balanced view about how the show depicts women. Unfortunately, it came out sounding quite embarrassing considering his reputation for putting the moves on his staff, something we see a lot on the show. Clinton said:
"The way women were treated is appalling, and only occasionally funny to me."
I think someone should tell Mr. Clinton that the "appalling" treatment of women is not supposed to be funny . . . ever. Let's just hope this was an unfortunate choice of words.

He had good intentions, but should have kept mum about the treatment of women on that show
1love the man, but really? Bill Clinton has never behaved in appalling ways towards women? LOL
2I absolutely cannot stand Bill Clinton, but I'm sure he didn't mean the comment in a misogynistic way. I'm thinking he meant two things some of the scenes where women are mistreated is funny, not because of the anti-women treatment but because of the way the women react. Take the season finale. Roger asks Peggy to get him some coffee and she doesn't even look up to say "No."
3aw Bubba, what you meant to say was:
"I wish I totally worked there, Roger is my hero"
I love Bill, he is adorably harmless.
4I can't stand him either, Studio16. The older I get the more I see just how little regard a lot of men have for women. With Clinton's womanizing past, disrespecting his own marriage, family and lying to all of us...hard to like him and not read something very bad into what he's said about Mad Men.
5pot, meet kettle.
6oh bill.
i don't think he meant it to come out that way.
i love him.
7Studio16, I think I was going to say the EXACT same thing. I mean, really, I am no Bill Clinton lover, but some things are meant to be funny, and those are probably the things that he finds funny. No controversy there.
